PUMA have two of the biggest names in world football with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund. Today it was the turn to launch the new home kit of Dortmund. As we have come to expect, PUMA dont do ordinary and introduced the new kit with a documentary video, which you can see below, which fans are able to upload their photos in and play a role in their own personal clip. Another fantastic idea. While PUMA often do fascinating in the home kit launch, they also stick to the traditions of the club. This can be seen through the Dortmund kit still featuring the long-standing tradition of yellow and black. The refreshingly different take on it however is with some black horizontal pinstripes. Inside the shirt, fans and players can find the rules of the ‘BVB Leistungsversprechen’, which is a traditional club vow promising to always strive to achieve maximum performance.
As with all PUMA kits the design is of a high quality with the polyester fabric made extremely breathable and also providing optimum heat transfer for performance on the pitch. Below the armpits is mesh inserts featuring PUMA’s dryCELL technology, designed to draw heat and moisture away from the skin.
Dortmund and PUMA star striker Marco Reus said, “With pre-season training starting again, excitement for the new season is building up. I really look forward to stepping onto the pitch at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, seeing all those black-yellow fans. The new shirt is great, and I like the subtle design with the stripes across the chest. There’s no doubt we will enjoy wearing this new kit throughout the 2015/16 season.”
The new jersey will be available in stores from mid-July at a cost of R899.
