When I started blogging on All Things Jabu in 2010, my goal was always to get involved and give coverage to smaller and developing sports in South Africa. That thought and idea generated great relationship and content for hockey, tennis, netball and recently the Quantum Long Drive. It is with this in mind that I got excited when approached by our friends at Saf-fa Energy to partner up in a new sport called the Flying Disc League. A compact and fun version of Ultimate Frisbee.
In order to launch the Flying Disc League, the league is hosting a Saf-fa sponsored open day for individuals, families and friends to come try the sport out.
Its pretty simple really as the sport is a mix of american football and netball, can be played by both men and women and is a minimal contact sport. The open day on the 20th April will take place at Benoni Northerns Sports Club, with tons of fun and giveaways going on the day. To get involved Contact Tim 084 602 7887 or Nick 082 325 4311 or check out the Facebook page. All proceeds from the open day will go to the Ark Animal Centre, so get there and enjoy the party!
