The loudest 5km race in the world, the Music Run, is finally making its stop in South Africa, where Johannesburg will play host to the innovative race. The Music Run by Old Mutual is an immersive 5k fun run that puts music at the heart of the experience. Over 120 concert quality speakers pumping out over 150,000 watts of music will line the running course, known as ‘The Sound Track’, across five interactive and music themed– Rock, Pop, Old School, Hip Hop and Dance.
The music is selected by you! The Music Run is the only fun run that gets you involved in selecting the music you want to listen to during the run. There are 5 music zones, each with a different music genre. Each of the 5 music zones will have its own playlist. You can play with the event playlists and listen and vote for your favourite songs. The more a song is voted for and shared on Facebook, the more likely your favourites will make the top 5 playlists for each Music Zone.
Created by Fresh Events Global, The Music Run was first held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2014. The event has already been experienced by more than 100,000 participants across 12 events and 9 countries from Singapore to Hamburg. The stop in Johannesburg will be the first time the Music Run has been hosted in Africa.
The Music Run will take place at Riversands Farm Village on Saturday 4 February 2017. Participants can register for the event by visiting TheMusicRun.com. Registration starts at R220 and Kids under 5 are free. For more information please visit The Music Run Website, Facebook page, Twitter feed or YouTube Channel.
