WIN: Entry into the second Spur Cape Summer Trail Series

You may remember towards the end of last year I took part in the Spur Gauteng Sumer Trail Series, which was my first venture into trail running. I immediately was taught the very interesting lesson that running can be incredibly technical. And while trail running may offer a completely different challenge, it still offers that same sense of satisfaction on completion of the race. I also learnt that no one does a trail series quite as well as Spur.

With that in mind, let us cast our mind down south to Cape Town and its surrounds. Currently on the go is the Spur Cape Summer Trail Series. The first race took part in Lebanon Forest, Elgin Valley last weekend and Sports 24 Seven – All Things Jabu was represented by our mate Jared Rom who smashed all of my records without breaking a sweat. Okay, I lie, he was pouring, but that didn’t read quite as well.

The second part of the Cape series gives runners the opportunity to run the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for a night race on 24 January 2017. The races require no experience and offer a great introduction to this growing sport. The events are perfect for families and friends to join together and enjoy the beauty that’s on offer. Runners as young as six are welcome. Each races offers runners the option of a short and long course.

Adam Deane, Brand Activation Manager for Spur Steak Ranches: “The Spur Trail Series is a fantastic event within the ever growing sport of trail running in South Africa. With breathtaking venues and a truly premium experience, it’s something everyone can enjoy, from elite athletes to families. We’re looking forward to enjoying the summer outside with the Cape Summer Trail Series and with the addition of a world class venue in Meerendal Estate its sure to be an amazing series. I encourage anyone who loves nature and working up a sweat to join us, it’s the perfect way to kick start 2017”.
