I get a lot of releases across my desk these days. And here at All Things Jabu we do not run releases, we are not a news site after all, but rather a sports blog that want to share informative and enlightening opinion. Of course, from our involvement with the Unogwaja Challenge, you will know that we have an incredible passion for making a difference. So when I heard about Taylormade doing what they were doing I thought, hells yes, this is something that deserves sharing.
Taylormade have been a leading golf brand for years and have sponsored numerous major winners along the way including Justin Rose, YE Yang, Martin Kaymer and our very own Retief Goosen. They are also the brand known for the RBZ range and the first to pioneer the white headed golf clubs. They have been consistently the best driver in the market.
So when you think of Taylormade, you think of golf, you think of success and you think of incredible drivers. But thanks to their latest move, when you think of Taylormade, you will think of a brand with heart, a brand who makes the difference, not just on the golf course.
The annual Taylormade Staff Invitational, which takes place across various golf courses in SA, provides an opportunity for TaylorMade Golf to thank their on-course professionals for all their hard work as well as reward loyal customers for their support through a series of golf tournaments. This year the Invitational took place at Copper Leaf in Centurion, Clovelly in Cape Town and Oubaai in George. Two winners from each event were selected to participate in the final event which was held at Fancourt in George.
The tournament also allows the chance to give back to the community through various fund raising activities. This year a cheque of R100 000 was handed over to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital which will go towards the upgrade of their Burns Unit. A further R25 000 was donated to each of the following charities – Jellybeanz, an organisation based in Blouberg that assists in providing emotional support to children and families who have experienced abuse and trauma, the Sarah Fox children’s hospital in Athlone and finally to Tears – an animal rescue organisation based in Fish
This took the three year total of the Taylormade Staff Invitational over the R1 million goal. An incredible achievement and a sign that Taylormade, as a brand, are doing so much for the good of others and not just focusing on golf course success.
