PUMA have been one of Arsenal’s major sponsors for two years now and have made some fantastic strides in this time. Few will forget their fun new jacket for Arsene Wenger with the much easier zip, the launch of the kit last season that was “Powered by Fans” and of course the #ForeverArsenal movement. Heading towards the new season the brains at PUMA have once again delivered with the catchy “We are THE Arsenal” paying homage to the Gunners being the first team registered with “The” in the name.
As part of the We are THE Arsenal movement, PUMA and The Arsenal have partnered up to produce a four-part film series that shares an insight into the experience and pride of fans, players – both past and present, all of whom share a unified passion for the North London club. It features real fans from Mumbai, Shanghai, New York City and London. The intro video includes some of the club greats like Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Freddie Ljunberg, all part of the Invincibles.
In the first film released this week, its the turn of Mumbai to be highlighted and Hector Bellerin, first choice fullback, shared “Our fans in India are so passionate and committed, often watching us at crazy times – especially on European nights. We really value and appreciate their support!”
Over the next three weeks, three additional films will be released that give a broader view into the experience of Arsenal fans in Shanghai and New York, as well as London. They show the support for the Gunners lives with equal passion and commitment around the world, and the values shared by Arsenal fans are truly universal.
Speaking about the campaign, Santi Cazorla said, “The support for Arsenal in other countries as well as England is always overwhelming. When we see the lengths people go to to watch and support us, and the impact this has on their lives, it really inspires us to try and bring them more happiness. These films are a nice way to recognise the importance of the supporters, and to show their knowledge and passion is the same in every continent.”
The only thing missing from the series is a Johannesburg leg, but I am proud to be a fan of The Arsenal! #WeAreTHEArsenal #NorthLondonIsRed
